Following a move by Governor JB Pritzker that could jail small business owners for re-opening, State Representative Mike Murphy (R-Springfield) issued the following statement:
“This is a blatant overreach by the Governor,” said Murphy. “It is the responsibility of the legislature to write the laws, not the Governor. How he can honestly justify the previous release of convicted felons and then pivot to putting hard working small business owners in jail for trying to save the livelihoods of themselves and their employees is extremely disconcerting.”
Yesterday, the Governor filed the proposed emergency rules for review by the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR). Click here to learn more.
